Wheels are supposed to be round damnit. You know what else had a flat bottomed wheel?
The Allegro.

This take is lukewarm at best. Oppo has a lot of reportedly hot takes that are actually somewhat cold. #makeoppohottakeagain

I agree, don’t understand this fad.

A hot take would be me saying that Mazda makes cars that aren’t as good as the competition, especially when it comes to long term durability. All for a car that doesn’t really look good, just different.
The underdog is sometimes the underdog for a reason.

I thought they looked cool, but thinking about it now I guess it would make it annoying if you crossover your hands and the wheel isn’t a consistent shape. I know racecars have em for leg space but if it ain’t a racecar it don’t need it.

Counterpoint, they’re great for getting in and out of a car when you’re slightly freakishly tall, like myself. My Golf has one, as does the WRX I have on order. Plus, I like the way they look, fad or not.

I’ll bite. It’s a crappy fad that has lasted too long. They imply sports car but man it’s frustrating to put your hand where you think the wheel will be but only to grab air. There’s no function to a flat bottom wheeled unless you’re in a race car.

You get used to a flat bottomed wheel very quickly. Crossing over isn’t a problem, no worse than say a wheel that isn’t perfectly centered (when you turn it the rim of the wheel doesn’t maintain a consistent position).

Still a relatively mild take, their longevity issues (RUST!) are well documented. I’m talking a barely thought out forest fire of a take that offends everyone and doesnt really make any sense.

It makes it easier to get in and out of the car when the flat bottom is facing downwards. I know several elderly people who would find a flat bottom wheel quite convenient.
